Paul Hamlyn Foundation (PHF) is a leading grant-making funder, giving away over £57m grants each year, and Red Stone has been their creative partner since 2007.
As PHF are always keen to demonstrate their commitment to digital first, accessible products. So for this year’s annual report, we proposed a shift from a portrait print-based report to a landscape interactive report, and they welcomed our suggestion. We devised creative approaches that bring the core copy to life through photography, stats and pull quotes.

Giving pace to the content
The annual report is clean and striking. We gave pace to the content by using full page dividers to hero images of grant recipients. The top navigation bar links to key sections, plus a link to the interactive contents page.
A more flexible format
We set up a flexible grid for the document, giving space for the large financial charts and tables to work across the landscape page.
The approach has been praised as it works more successfully on screen, and has joined a number of other reports we produce for PHF as landscape interactive pdfs – such as for their incredible initiative, Awards for Artists.
